Who We Are

I’m Peter, and I started Inverse AV because I believe this industry can do better.
Inverse AV was founded on a simple belief: when people are properly looked after, the work is better.
We’re a national audio visual and event production company, based in Hampshire, delivering audio, lighting, video, crewing, and full production services and installations across the corporate, charity, and Christian sectors. While Inverse AV may be a young company, it’s built on decades of collective experience across almost every corner of the industry.
Our background isn’t just in one lane. We’ve been sound engineers, church production leads, lighting and video operators, festival volunteers, warehouse crew, project managers, and event delivery managers. We’ve studied the theory, learned on the job, and worked our way through long days, late nights, and the behind-the-scenes realities that most people never see. We know what it takes to prep, deliver, strike, turn kit around, and do it all again — because we’ve lived it.
And we started Inverse AV because, too often, that experience wasn’t valued.
We saw an industry where crews were stretched thin, appreciation was an afterthought, and “that’s just how it is” became the norm. Long days without proper breaks. Food that was rushed or unhealthy, if it was considered at all. Teams who poured everything into an event, only for it to end with little more than silence. Warehouse teams working relentlessly to keep shows moving, rarely acknowledged by the people benefiting from their effort.
We believe it doesn’t have to be that way.
At Inverse AV, care isn’t a buzzword — it’s part of how we operate. We plan properly so the right number of crew are on every job. We prioritise clear communication, respectful leadership, and realistic schedules. We make sure people are looked after, equipped properly, and treated with genuine appreciation for the work they do. Even when it costs us more, we see it as an investment — because it is.
That care shows up where it matters most: in the quality of delivery.
When crews feel valued, they turn up engaged, focused, and proud of what they’re producing. Instead of frustration or burnout, there’s energy and collaboration. More time spent refining the experience, solving problems creatively, and elevating the final result. Less time spent firefighting or counting down the hours.
For our clients, that means calmer productions, smoother events, and teams who genuinely want your event to succeed. For delegates and audiences, it means experiences that feel seamless, intentional, and well-executed.
While our employed team is small by design, we work with a trusted network of highly skilled freelancers — people we know, respect, and would happily work alongside ourselves. This gives us the flexibility to scale to the right size for each project, without compromising on quality, culture, or care.
Inverse AV exists to do things properly. To deliver excellent technical production. To serve clients with professionalism and confidence. And to build an industry culture where the people behind the scenes are valued just as much as the end result.
Because when people are looked after, everybody wins.
